Some of the BENEFITS:
Strawberries help fight carcinogens and contains anti-aging properties such as biotin and the antioxidant ellagic acid, which helps prevent sagging skin.
The antioxidant properties in strawberries may also help to prevent cataracts—the clouding over of the eye lens—which can lead to blindness in older age.
The antioxidants and phytochemicals found in strawberries may also help to reduce inflammation of the joints, which may cause arthritis and can also lead to heart disease.
In oranges, most of the pectin is in the pith (the white part on the peel) or the membrane between the segments, so be sure to leave the peel and membrane on the fruit. Pectin will bind willingly to heavy metals, allowing them to be easily flushed from the system. This nifty trick gives your liver a helping hand and helps keep it in tip top shape.
Oranges contain flavonoids in the peel and juice that stimulate the immune system and protects against a fungi/pests while helping to reduce cholesterol levels
Oranges are full of potassium, an electrolyte mineral is responsible for helping the heart function well. When potassium levels get too low, you may develop an abnormal heart rhythm, known as an arrhythmia.
Oranges are full of vitamin C which protects cells by neutralizing free radicals. Free radicals cause chronic diseases, like cancer and heart disease.
Oranges help prevent kidney diseases and reduces the risk of kidney stones
Studies show that the abundance of polyphenols in oranges protects against viral infections.
How to properly clean fruit:
Combine 1/2 part apple cider vinegar and 1/2 part water in a spray container. Spray your veggies & fruit thoroughly. Wait 5-10 minutes, then rub the skin with your hands to remove any vinegar residue. Rinse w/cold water, rub again, pat dry. The vinegar kills the bacteria that lives in the crevices of veggies and fruits.
